Media desk - About Skape

Skape is the first geographic-information product to offer advanced imagery of 3D heighted buildings of the UK's major cities. We show real, fully textured imagery captured by our own dedicated fleet of aircraft.

With the new Skape service it is possible to "roam" over terrain from the South of England up to Scotland, and interact with a real environment. Buildings can be added and removed at will for a full range of design purposes. High levels of detail make it possible to see individual doors, windows and even street furniture.

Skape had been designed for a range of industries, including architecture, planning, building development and environmental consultation. In addition, our data allows interactive analysis for:

  • Shadow casting
  • Asset management
  • Infrastructure design
  • Planning consultation
  • Verified views
  • Occupier details
  • Visualisation design

Skape is the latest service to be developed by Infoterra Ltd, a market-leading provider of geographic information products and services. With more satellites than NASA, Infoterra is part of EADS Astrium, and has more than 25 years' experience in commercial earth observation and geospatial data analysis.

Skape has been developed on the back of extensive customer research. We believe we have created a unique, market-leading, job changing service for our customers, but we are determined to continue evolving the service, in collaboration with our user base and research panel.

In addition, we develop and own over 99% of our data, which allows us the flexibility to manage and update our data at any time.
